Developer and Multi-Utility Services

May Gurney Utility Services undertakes a wide variety of utility infrastructure construction for asset owners throughout the UK - and can offer support to third parties and developers on multi-utility schemes or industrial connection work activities through the competency of these resources.

May Gurney's utility teams have undertaken projects to renew and replace the UK's utility networks - including the laying of gas mains, electric cabling and water mains - and have the skills and understanding required for multi utility or developer service projects.

May Gurney is one of a select group of Independent Connections Providers and Utility Infrastructure Providers who have been successfully accredited by Lloyd's Register for the construction of new LV and HV electricity infrastructure networks up to 33kV, and for gas infrastructure up to 7 barg. Accreditation is only issued to companies that meet the highest standards in terms of quality, technical proficiency and safety. Since utility deregulation, more and more developers realise they have a choice of companies to install utility services.

Multi utility from May Gurney offers benefits that far outweigh the traditional single approach. For example the developer has to deal with just one company and one main point of contact. For most new developments multi utility is more cost effective than the traditional single utility approach. The cost savings derived from laying multiple pipe and cables in one trench are passed onto the developer - and with only one trench being dug, there is less site disruption. All the utility pipes and cables are laid at the same time, before the trench is backfilled. With single utility, the trench is re-opened for each utility, which is unnecessary and wastes time. May Gurney has achieved independent registrations to enable self-lay of utilities including:
