Client: Network Rail

Timescale:
August to present date (work is on-going)

A 1km section of embankment carrying the line between Ben Rhydding and Burley-in-Wharfedale was stabilised under a scheme designed by Atkins Geotechnical Engineers and executed by Rail Services.

Remedial works included the introduction of subsurface drainage to reduce ground water pressures, surface water drainage to control run-off and prevent water ponding on the uphill side of the embankment and follow on works to support the over steep embankment.

Works will include environmental reinstatement of trees and landscaping.
