Client: Highways Agency
Project: A21 Lamberhurst Bypass
Completed: 2005
Value: £12.6 million

This design and construct scheme, which was procured under NEC Option C,consisted of 3km of dual two-lane trunk road and improvements to 0.6km of single carriageway, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A key feature of the project is the construction of a 'land bridge' to carry the main access to Scotney Castle, while maintaining the general ambience of the surrounding countryside.

The scheme also necessitated the building of two other bridges, and the diversion of a short section of the River Teise.
