Continuous Flight Auger (CFA)
May Gurney Geotechnical operate one of the largest and best-equipped
continuous flight auger (CFA) piling fleets in the UK. We undertake CFA piling
throughout all parts of the UK and Ireland for projects of all sizes.
The CFA system is very versatile and is suitable for the majority of ground conditions
in the UK. Low noise and vibration free CFA piles are ideal for projects in close
proximity to other buildings. Our most recently acquired large rig is capable
of pile installation within 600mm of an adjacent building. We also have full
sized CFA rigs capable of working in headroom as low as 5m.We offer pile diameters
between 300mm - 1200mm, and pile lengths to 30m.
CFA piles are used for load bearing and to form retaining walls. Retaining walls can be contiguous or secant depending on the application. CFA piles can be engineered to cater for very large horizontal and tension loads.
We operate rigs of differing sizes/capabilities to suit a wide range of sites and ground conditions. For sites with restricted access we can also offer mini piling equipment.
Our CFA rigs can be modified and equipped, most cost effectively, to core and bore rock formations, resulting in extremely high capacities from the socketed piles.
