Client: Gosport Borough Council
Project: Forton Lake Footbridge
Completed: 2000
Value: £1.4 million

This architecturally designed 10 span Millennium footbridge is 180 metres long, and incorporates a 20 metre long opening centre section.

The construction uses high quality white pre-cast concrete side and soffit units, in-filled with reinforced concrete.  The opening section was fabricated from steel.

The scheme, which involved significant environmental measures, was chosen by the DTI as a Demonstration Project for its Movement for Innovation (M4I) construction industry initiative.
