Cartledge believes in forming close and lengthy working relationships with its customers and other partners - the company has been working with the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames (RBK) for over 20 years.
In its previous contract, Cartledge achieved a 'lights on' performance of more than 99% and introduced several innovative working methods - including installations using the EDF rent-a-jointer scheme.
The current 15 year plus five year contract develops the partnership theme further. Under the contract, Cartledge and RBK management teams are working together to provide an efficient and responsive service at the lowest cost.
The partnership will create short, medium and long-term plans to deliver the following strategic aims:
Improving the streets of the borough
Reducing crime and fear of crime
Providing equal opportunities for all members of the community
Putting the environment at the heart of everything it does
The team is currently working together to develop a lighting plan. This involves Cartledge being given access to the lighting database and working with local engineers to identify priorities, needs and energy saving investments.
This innovative method of working is already resulting in improved efficiencies, with local crews empowered to take decisions on maintenance. For example, when carrying out electrical testing, crews are empowered to make minor repairs so that they can immediately re-test without referring to the lighting engineer.
