The contract, which was completed on time and within budget, was procured on a two-stage basis, incorporating the principles of Early Contractor Involvement and partnership working. 

The three-storey, steel framed building is constructed on reinforced concrete load-bearing beams and piled foundations. 

The external facade consists of flat cladding with rendered brickwork panels and curtain walling.

Extensive mechanical & electrical installations include specialist security and access control systems, uninterruptiblepower supplies and standby generators.

The contract also called for the construction of a new transmission building.
