The project comprised a new 210-place Primary School on a green-field site on the outskirts of Chelmsford.

The value-engineered design solution, which received a Civic Trust Award, resulted in a facetted glazed rear elevation and a curved front elevation clad in cedar boarding.

This project provides a piled, stell-framed extension to the existing school to accommodate a further eight class bases and an assembly hall, along with associated external works and internal remodelling.

The external walls incorporate glazed aluminium curtain walling with external brick toilet pods.

Commissioned as part of a Primary Schools Partnership using NEC Contract Option C.

The scheme was of traditional load-bearing masonry construction, with timber roof trusses and slate tiling, painted plaster internal wall finishes and suspended ceilings. 

The external works included car parking, a netball court, and a football pitch.

This was a traditionally procured contract that comprised the construction of a new Sports Hall and fitness suite.

The existing changing room facilities were remodelled to allow extra space and additional car parking was provided externally.
