The project involves the construction of a new 410-place
primary school on a green-field site at Ascham Road in Cambridge as a
replacement for the existing Junior and Infant schools.
The design is based upon a structural steel frame with laminated timber beams and a traditional tiled roof.
Due to poor soil conditions, it was necessary to carry out ground improvement works prior to erection of the frame.
