Investment enhances specialist sewer services

May Gurney has invested in three new innovative Aquavac high capacity jetting units to further improve its comprehensive sewer cleansing and CCTV survey service.

" The new units have already been utilised in Taunton for Wessex Water"

May Gurney's specialist sewer cleansing teams now have equipment capable of high pressure jetting to 2000psi and using 85 gallons of water per minute. Combined with an 8" suction hose operating at 2700 cfm, this gives them the ability to cleanse much larger diameter sewers and remove higher volumes of debris.

Richard Dean, May Gurney's Chief Operating Officer, said: "The new units have already been utilised on a 6,000 metre section of sewer in Taunton for our customer Wessex Water. This forms part of a comprehensive sewer asset condition survey to identify problems in the network prior to investment.

"We are also awaiting delivery of new CCTV survey inspection equipment (see pic opposite). These cameras will improve our survey and tracing capability as they have full pan and tilt features with 30 times zoom, which will allow us to provide customers with much higher definition pictures to better understand a sewer's condition."

May Gurney offers a comprehensive DVD-based sewer survey service including condition reports and Mpeg video footage to help customers save time and money in processing sewer inspection footage.

On the Taunton project remedial works have begun, with trenchless sewer lining being used to rectify the most critical defects found in comprehensive surveys undertaken earlier in 2007.
