New framework from Environment Agency

The Environment Agency has awarded May Gurney an Electrical, Mechanical & Building Framework for the maintenance of mechanical and electrical assets across the Midlands.

The four-year contract runs from April 2007 - 2011, subject to a performance review at the end of two years.

The Framework is divided into two parts - M1 and M2 - which relate to different aspects of work.

M1 covers the overhaul and repair of non-navigable and navigable river gauging station cableways - and the provision of heavy lifting, winching equipment and associated fabrications.

"It's good to add this to our portfolio of maintenance based service contracts"

Clive Read, May Gurney

M2 covers repairs and servicing of land drainage pumping stations, outfall structures, flap valves and river control gate (sluices and penstocks).

Clive Read, Utility Services' Interim MD, commented: "It's good to add this to our portfolio of maintenance based service contracts in the region - it is complimentary to our framework for pumping station maintenance with Seven Trent Water."
