Fast cure for Scotland

Fast cure for Scotland

May Gurney Utility Services is now firmly established in Scotland, and is adding to the range of trenchless systems already adopted by Scottish Water. May Gurney has introduced rehabilitate of the water supply network by 'fast cure' PU lining, which has never previously been used north of the border.

Utility Services is working to deliver Scottish Water's water and sewer network investment programme under an 'alliance arrangement' with Scottish Water Contracting.

Fast cure for Scotland This is the first time that PU technology has been used in Scotland, and May Gurney is understandably proud to have introduced the system for this type of work.

The PU 'fast curing' lining system offers considerable advantages over other lining systems, including the traditional process of epoxy resin lining that has been used for many years in the region. The key benefit is a rapid return to service for customers affected by works being undertaken to improve the quality of their water supply. The system eliminates the traditional 16 hours post-curing delay - which obviously greatly improves customer service levels.

Up to April 2006, nearly 6 km of water mains rehabilitation had been undertaken on mains from 3" to 6" diameter.
