Gas metering agreement extends service provision

May Gurney Utility Services has recently become an approved gas metering contractor to National Grid Gas (NGG) in the north west of England.

The new Emergency & Meter Services (MASR 907) framework agreement covers a two year period, with a one year extension, and enables National Grid to call on May Gurney for support at any time.

This latest agreement compliments Utility Services' existing engineering term contract, and enables it to support NGG with additional resources to meet workload demand in gas metering.

Tim Read, Utility Services MD commented: "Although we do not anticipate an initial surge of activity in gas metering from this contract, it is great to have a framework agreement in place that allows National Grid's local operational teams to come to us as and when support is needed.

"It also adds to the portfolio of gas services that we can offer and develops our capability for the longer term in this sector."
