Step change advances 'Best gas business' strategy
With the re-branding of Willows Plant (which was acquired in October 2007) complete, May Gurney's bid to create 'the best' gas business is gathering momentum.
The Willows acquisition has strengthened May Gurney's position in the gas market, and is in line with the company's ambitious plan to be 'twice the size by 2012'.
The new May Gurney office - just off junction 23 of the M6 at Golborne on Merseyside - provides a comprehensive construction and maintenance service for gas transmission and distribution pipelines, and gas mains.
In addition, specialist teams based there undertake maintenance activities on valves, pressure vessels and dosing systems as well as above ground apparatus such as Governor Stations and Gas Holders.
"The strategy now is to create 'the best' gas business in the north west and midlands."

All this enhances May Gurney's solid reputation with one of its platinum customers, National Grid, for high quality operational service delivery and total reliability.
Gavin Scarr Hall, Managing Director Utility Services, comments: "Our current engineering term and numerous maintenance contracts with National Grid in the north west and midlands can now be merged into one integrated operational gas service covering all aspects of repair, renewal and maintenance of National Grid's assets."
Tim Read, Interim Managing Director of May Gurney's gas business adds: "Now we have a fully integrated gas business we will be in an even stronger position to support National Grid in the future. The strategy now is to create 'the best' gas business in the north west and midlands."
