Philip will take over from Richard Dean, who has indicated for some time his intention to move on after eight successful years - initially as Managing Director of Construction and then as Chief Operating Officer. Richard will stay on until the AGM in July to ensure a smooth handover.
David Sterry, Chief Executive, said: "We are deeply indebted to Richard for his input to May Gurney over the last eight years. He was part of the MBO team that formed May Gurney Integrated Services plc in 2001. He has been a key player in the strategy to move May Gurney to a service business since then. We wish him well in the future.
"I am delighted to welcome Philip to the Board. He has an excellent track record and shares our philosophy and culture. He brings valuable skills to the Board and I and my colleagues look forward to working with him."
