Excellent control

The flagship Eastern Regional Control Centre project, developed for the Highways Agency alongside the M25 at South Mimms, has received an ICE Merit Award for Technical Excellence.

The accolade was presented at a gala evening in Stevenage and was a fitting endorsement of the collaborative working principles adopted throughout the project.

May Gurney's team, led by Contracts Manager Richard Clark and Project Manager Ewan Barr, worked in full partnership with the Agency, architects Atkins Waters Webster, engineering consultants WSP Consulting and cost managers Gardiner & Theobald, to successfully deliver a complex scheme within tight budgetary and programme constraints.
