School's in

A new Cambridge primary school, built by May Gurney, was officially opened on 27 April.

The new 420-place Milton Road Primary School, which replaces a Victorian school building, comprises a steel/timber framed single storey structure designed around a central courtyard. External areas are laid out to provide interest through the use of an intricate blend of soft and hard landscaping.

The new school was officially opened by the children's poet, Michael Rosen. The Chairman of Cambridgeshire County Council, Councillor Susan Normington, was also present.
