'Wonderful news' for Building Services
SMARTEEast, a not for profit company jointly owned by Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk County Councils, has selected May Gurney as a framework partner to provide construction services across eastern England.
The four-year appointment will involve May Gurney's Building Services team in the delivery of a range of public sector new-build and refurbishment projects in two value bands: £500k-£2m, and more than £1.75m.
"This is wonderful news and testament to our reputation for collaborative working"

The framework is the result of a ground breaking initiative by the authorities in collaboration with the Association of Chief Corporate Property Officers (COPROP) and the Regional Centre of Excellence East (RCE-East) who provided funding and ongoing support for the project.
SMARTEEast will act as an umbrella for regional framework contracts and the training and development of an extended supply chain, with the emphasis firmly on establishing long-term relationships.
The initial programme of work, expected to be worth in the region of £80m, will be focussed in Essex and Hertfordshire. However, other county and district councils across the eastern region are expected to join the consortium in the future.
This success comes hard on the heels of May Gurney's inclusion as part of a similar framework in Hampshire, procured under the auspices of the South East Centre of Excellence.
Director of Building Services, Robert Russell, commented: "This is wonderful news and testament to our reputation for, and commitment to, the principles of collaborative working.
"The appointment gives us the opportunity to continue our successful working relationship with Essex and Suffolk County Councils and to extend the benefits of our experience to Hertfordshire County Council and elsewhere.
"We also hope that our involvement in Hampshire will enable us to share best practice with all our partners, to the ultimate benefit of all."
