'Fantastic achievement' by Cartledge employee

Cartledge employee Dave Harris (centre in pic) achieved second place in the 'Operative of the Year' category at the ASLEC (Association of Street Lighting & Electrical Contractors) Industry Awards, which were presented at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport in Wales on 2 November.

Cartledge is May Gurney's specialist street lighting business, and Dave was nominated for the commitment and pride he has shown working on the company's contract with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.

"For Dave to reach the top three was a fantastic achievement. "

"There are 226 ASLEC-registered organizations, and 4199 individuals carrying registration cards," says Graham Cartledge, Managing Director. "For Dave to reach the top three, with a relatively short history in the street lighting industry, was a fantastic achievement. We are all extremely proud of Dave and congratulate him."

Dave has worked for Cartledge for four years, and on the Barking & Dagenham contract for the past three years. His total commitment to the company and the customer has reduced maintenance repairs from five to 2.5 days.

Dave has also been praised by Barking & Dagenham's Street Lighting Manager for the major part he has played in the installation and maintenance of a 'new technology' remote monitoring system installed in 2003.
