SMART idea
The Norfolk Strategic Partnership (NSP) is experimenting with the use of a SMART car when carrying out traffic management by convoy vehicle.

"The idea was put forward by our supply chain partner TREK," explains Joe Goldie, General Manager for the NSP, which comprises Norfolk CC, May Gurney and Mott MacDonald.

"There are several benefits of using a smaller vehicle including reduced capital outlay, lower operating costs and a smaller carbon footprint. The SMART car is also highly visible and much easier to manoeuvre than a conventional convoy vehicle."
