MD heads industry association
Graham Cartledge, Managing Director of May Gurney's street lighting business (Cartledge) has recently become Chairman of the Association of Street Lighting Electrical Contractors (ASLEC). Graham assumed the presidency at ASLEC's annual AGM, Conference, Exhibition and Awards event on 1 November.

ASLEC represents the interests of companies operating in the highway electrical contracting industry. There are more than 40 members, whose activities range from street lighting and signs to highway communications and close circuit television systems.

Cartledge is one of the UK's largest street lighting specialists, with an enviable reputation that has been developed over more than 40 years working in partnership with local authorities. The company possesses a broad range of operational, technical and management skills - and believes passionately in building long-term collaborative relationships with its customers.

Cartledge also believes in sharing best practice by transferring knowledge from one contract to another and organises a six monthly best practice forum for its customers.
