Highways Services' team strengthened

May Gurney Highways Services has strengthened its management team with the appointment of John Jackson to the post of Operations Director (South).

John has worked in civil engineering throughout his career. Prior to joining May Gurney he was Operations Director for Alfred McAlpine Project Services, with responsibility for civil engineering projects in southeast England.

At May Gurney, John is overseeing the operational performance of the East and West Sussex term maintenance contracts. His responsibilities include financial performance, client relations, HSE delivery, staff development and recruitment.

"I've been aware of May Gurney for many years, and at times been in competition with them," John says. "I've been impressed by the positive comments I had heard from both clients and former employees.

"My role here is a little different to my previous positions and I'm looking forward to the many challenges ahead."
