Appointments strengthen customer relationships

Another two new Customer Relationship Directors (CRDs) have joined May Gurney in recent weeks.

CRDs are responsible for building relationships with key customers - they are the strategic point of contact for the customers they are assigned to, and work with key stakeholders to fully understand their needs and agendas.

They also raise awareness of what we have to offer as an integrated support and construction services company, and identify solutions to meet their customer's needs.

Ian Cousins is the new CRD for Essex County Council, with whom we have a long-term contract to maintain roads in the south and west of the county.

Ian began his career in oil and gas construction and project management, before moving into developing strategic partnering contracts with major corporations including Shell UK and BP.

Since then he has worked in a number of sectors, spearheading business change and strategic customer engagement initiatives to achieve integrated national service delivery solutions.

"Developing even more effective business relationships with our customers and suppliers is essential"

Ian says: "I've been made incredibly welcome by everyone I've met here, which is a great start - at the end of the day its people who make things happen.

"Developing even more effective business relationships with our customers and suppliers is essential if we are to maximise our huge potential to deliver a sustainable future for us all. At the end of the day it's all about developing close working relationships for mutual benefit."

Kathryn Cooper-Faye is the new CRD for Network Rail.

Kathryn is a law graduate from De Montfort University and also studied for an MBA at Cranfield School of Management. Her key skills and experience are in business development and managing large, complex accounts.

Prior to joining May Gurney, Kathryn ran her own business development consultancy for five years, working with major grocery, non-food and fashion retailers and their suppliers. Prior to this, she enjoyed spells with two major retail equipment suppliers and TNT.

"I'm looking forward to helping make a difference to Network Rail and May Gurney"
