Changing behaviour through MAD

The next module of May Gurney's Making A Difference programme - MAD Choices - has been launched to in a series of sessions across the country.

MAD is behavioural change programme developed in-house by May Gurney. It is based on understanding how the human mind works - how 'conscious' and 'unconscious' actions impact on behaviour.

At present MAD Choices has been explained to the programme's internally trained coaches, who will brief all employees over the next few months.

"The new MAD Choices module summarises the content of earlier briefings and acts as a reminder about making the right choice in terms of safety, health and the environment," says Tina Dobson (pictured). "It's a chance for everyone to understand what the basis of 'Making a Difference' is all about."

The module helps to make people aware of how habits are formed, and to understand that bad habits can be changed when people chose to do so.

"We have capable people and great systems - now we need to continually look at the choices we are making. That's where MAD can help us improve performance still further in key areas," Tina concludes.

There's a comprehensive section about MAD on this website. Alternatively, for further information contact Tina Dobson on 01603 727427.
