New post signals growth intent

As part of our ambitious growth plans for the waste services sector, Nicola Peake has been appointed to the new position of Managing Director of May Gurney Waste Services.

Nicola has an impressive track record for growing businesses serving local government. Prior to this appointment, Nicola was responsible for the start-up of Accord Facilities Management and more than doubled the size of the business by winning new customers and developing wider services.

Nicola said: “I am looking forward to developing our Waste Services sector. The government and the EU continue to set ambitious targets for waste treatment and recycling, so there are many exciting opportunities in the market at the moment.

Nicola Peake, May Gurney

“May Gurney’s track record of developing long-term relationships with local government means the company is in an ideal position to secure them. My key challenge is to fulfil this potential and deliver on our strategy for growth.”

Waste Services is a key growth area for May Gurney - the business unit has recently commenced long-term contracts for household waste recycling for both Norfolk and Gloucestershire County Councils.
