Big response from sub-continent

May Gurney's recruitment campaign in India has produced a big response from construction and engineering professionals based there.

The company needs to recruit a significant number of high quality new people to help deliver ambitious plans. The campaign in India is targeting engineers, quantity surveyors, measurement engineers, estimators and project managers. A delegation of four May Gurney people will travel to India in mid-April to interview candidates with a view to making appointments.

In the UK, the company will recruit 60-70 graduates, trainees and apprentices into the business during summer 2007. Advertising for these positions is already underway - and has resulted in big increases in traffic to the careers section of the May Gurney website. In some instances, the number of 'hits' and 'visits' is up three or even four fold compared with normal volumes.

There are also a number of opportunities for general management trainees and people with other key skills including customer services and the professions, as well as those seeking a career in administration.

In addition, there are opportunities for existing employees who are keen to progress. May Gurney gives every encouragement to people who want to develop, and provides the necessary training to give its people the skills they need to progress through the organisation.
