Recruits required for ambitious growth mission

We're about to embark on a major recruitment campaign to attract 75 new apprentices, trainees and graduates to help achieve our drive to be 'twice the size' in the next five years.

"There's never been a better time to join the engineering and construction industry"

Liz Sugden, May Gurney

Liz Sugden, Starting Out Officer, says: "If you're looking to start out on a career, or thinking of changing career, there's never been a better time to join the engineering and construction industry - and us in particular.

"We're a fast growing, dynamic support and construction services company, and serious about doubling in size by 2013 - so there are massive opportunities for bright, enthusiastic and motivated people."

"We're looking to recruit enthusiastic graduates to help shape the future of the business"

Anthony Cotterill, May Gurney

Anthony Cotterill, Graduate Recruitment Officer, adds: "We're looking to recruit, develop and retain enthusiastic graduates to help shape the future of the business.

"We offer a variety of graduate career opportunities, ranging from business development to management, and engineering to quantity surveying. And we understand that a robust and flexible development programme is key to the success of our graduates - that's why we provide a quality development programme alongside 'on the job' training."

For anyone wanting to get paid while learning a new trade and skills an Apprenticeship or Traineeship is the perfect route into construction.

Liz Sugden explains: "We offer Apprenticeships and Traineeships in a wide variety of disciplines from engineering to procurement. Joining our Starting Out Scheme is a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job, gain a highly valued qualification and earn a great salary at the same time."

Our Apprentices and Trainees are given a tailored development plan that will include a mixture of work based and college training, as well as access to experts in their field.

We're also looking for an injection of talent from experienced professionals as well as those who are new to the industry - so as far as your career is concerned, the sky's the limit!

Assessment days are being held in targeted areas around the country during March and April. The closing date for applications is 29 February for Apprentices and Trainees, and 14 March for Graduates.
