Suffolk framework success

Building & Asset Services has strengthened its portfolio of public sector frameworks with the award of a four-year partnership deal with Suffolk County Council.

May Gurney is one of six contractors appointed to deliver a programme of new build and refurbishment contracts across the county. Its share of the available work is likely to be worth around £2 million annually.

The framework is off to a flying start - a £425k commission to construct an extension to the Tourist Information Centre on Lowestoft sea front has already been received. Feasibility is under discussion and, if all goes well, construction is scheduled to start in spring 2006.

Director of Building & Asset Services, Norman Gautrey, said: "We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to partner with Suffolk County Council, and are looking to build on the excellent working relationship established by the Infrastructure Services' team on the Suffolk bridges framework.

"The selection process was intensive, and I believe our success reflects the growing experience that we have in delivering this type of framework."
