Edd joins long list of award-winning May Gurney apprentices

Edd and Ashley Wren, who are both highways maintenance apprentices based at the Childerditch Depot and working on May Gurney's highways maintenance contract with Essex County Council, were two of only three nominees for this award. They were presented with their certificates by Geoff Miller, ex England cricketer and now a member of the board of selectors for the England team.
Dan Allen, May Gurney's area manager for the Essex highways contract, said: “Both Ashley and Edd have worked exceptionally hard, both at college and on site in Essex, to get to this position and are a credit to May Gurney. This was a point further reinforced by their course supervisor, Danny Edwards.”
Edd is the fourth May Gurney apprentice in the past seven years to win a top award at the National Construction College Awards (formerly CITB Awards). Previous winners were Matthew Meecham (2009), Kirk Carmen (2007) and Chris Flogdell (2005), all of whom were named Apprentice of the Year.
