Awards round up - February 2008

Considerate Constructors
A scheme carried out in Great Yarmouth by the Norfolk Strategic Partnership (NSP) is being considered for a prestigious Considerate Constructors' National Award.

NSP comprises ourselves, Norfolk County Council and Mott MacDonald, and the scheme in question is Phase 2 of the InteGreat project, under which Great Yarmouth's famous golden mile is being given a much needed facelift.

An independent Considerate Constructors panel meets annually to determine which sites should win a national Award, based on scores and comments by monitors who assess a project's impact on the general public and the environment, and facilities provided for those working on site.

Only the very highest performing sites are considered for a National Award - we will know whether we've been successful during April 2008.

Our Chairman, Tim Ross, has made the 2008 Power Top 50 - Business XL magazine's annual ranking of 'the hottest investors and advisers to growing business in the UK'.

The listing says Tim 'commands respect within construction industry circles', and 'carries boardroom clout at two companies with big order books'. It also describes May Gurney as an 'infrastructure maintenance star'.

Tim is also deputy chair of the thriving social housing concern Connaught.
