JV awarded Northamptonshire contract

MGWSP, the integrated highways services company formed in a 50:50 joint venture between May Gurney and WSP, has been awarded Northamptonshire County Council's sustainable transport highway services contract.

The long-term contract includes the provision of corporate services, consultancy and operational delivery - and has an approximate value of £320m over eight years, with a potential four-year extension.

The contract commences in March 2008 with an estimated value to us of £160m over eight years.

MGWSP combines the strengths of May Gurney and WSP, the design, engineering and management consultancy, to deliver integrated local government services across the United Kingdom.

Councillor Bob Seery, Northamptonshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Roads and Transport, said: "MGWSP will play a key role in the development of highways programmes and projects. The contract will look to develop and bring forward innovations in highways management using all the latest technology to secure the best value for money."
