£60m in new contract wins to deliver essential front-line services

May Gurney has announced two new long-term contracts for the delivery of essential front-line environmental services with a combined value of up to £60m.

Under a new contract with North Yorkshire County Council, May Gurney will manage 17 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). The contract is for seven years, with a possible extension of a further three years, and valued at up to £24m.

The new long-term waste and recycling collections contract for West Oxfordshire District Council will start in the autumn for an initial period of seven years, with a possible extension of a further seven years, and is valued at up to £36m.

"These new contracts support both councils' sustainability targets by helping residents to recycle more and by reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
