BSF programme will increase secondary school places

May Gurney and its joint venture partner have been appointed as the preferred bidder for the second phase of Lambeth’s BSF programme, which is valued at up to £185m and will be delivered through a Local Education Partnership (LEP).
The 10-year contract, which is not dependent upon external equity or debt funding, comprises a complete end-to-end service solution for education including refurbishment, ongoing maintenance and facilities management, information technology and support.
The programme will ensure all schools in the borough enjoy bright and exciting learning environments and will include a new school, one rebuild and substantial refurbishment or extension of Lambeth’s 10 other secondary schools.
Mike Pocock, director of the Lambeth BSF programme, said: “Lambeth’s BSF programme is recognised nationally as leading one of the country’s most successful school investment programmes.
“The BSF project has won several awards for architecture, design and innovation and I’m certain the team will receive further recognition in future years.
“The sheer scale, vision and level of ambition of this project means Lambeth’s children and young people will be given the best possible start to life.”
