100% for H&S in independent assessment

May Gurney Utility Services has had another successful annual Achilles audit, achieving high marks in ‘Health & Safety’, ‘Environment’ and ‘Quality’.

The May Gurney site team at Crownhill Water Treatment Works achieved 100% for Health & Safety as part of the onsite assessment, during the recent audit in February 2010.

Achilles identifies, qualifies, evaluates, and monitors supplier information on behalf of major organisations worldwide. The Achilles database is used by many of May Gurney’s clients and prospective clients as part of their contractor selection process.

The assessment process evaluates the company’s management system, together with an onsite assessment.

May Gurney’s onsite assessment was carried out at South West Water’s Crownhill Water Treatment Works, near Plymouth. The work being carried out by May Gurney during the assessment was the conversion of a disused 40m x 12m x 4m deep reinforced concrete tank, which included the construction of a new steel framed roof to make the tank watertight.
