Water contracts worth up to £355m provide big boost
The first couple of months of 2010 have brought excellent news for May Gurney Utility Services – with contract renewals and expansions with South West Water, Wessex Water and Anglian Water under the AMP5 programme.In total, May Gurney has been awarded five new contracts with a combined value of up to £355m, all commencing in April 2010.

South West Water (SWW) has renewed and expanded May Gurney’s long-term maintenance contract for integrated water distribution services.
The contract covers repair and maintenance work to the clean water network, including metering, for the whole SWW region. The services to be delivered include reactive and planned maintenance, leak repairs, new connections, installation maintenance and renewal of water meters and emergency maintenance and repairs. This will comprise around 91,000 works orders per annum, emphasising our essential role at the front-line of service delivery for SWW’s customers.
The contract is for an initial period of three years with a total value of up to £50m, plus possible extensions for up to 10 years with a total value of up to £170m.
SWW reappointed May Gurney because of its commitment to excellent customer service and consistent delivery of exceptional operational performance along with technological innovation, which deliver increased efficiencies and make a very real difference to their customers.

May Gurney has been awarded two new long-term framework contracts with Wessex Water, with a combined value of up to £65m over a period of five years plus possible extensions.
The contracts cover the whole Wessex Water region. The 'Strategic Grid' framework contract, valued at up to £40m, covers the reinforcement of Wessex Water's strategic supply mains system including pumping stations and large pipelines. The 'Network' framework contract, valued at up to £25m, includes mechanical and electrical (M&E) activities associated with asset upgrade, maintenance and new build at water treatment and waste water treatment facilities.
Wessex Water chose May Gurney because of its proven track record of developing successful long-term partnerships to deliver great performance, the technical expertise of its M&E teams and its industry leadership on environmental and waste management issues.

Anglian Water has awarded May Gurney two new long-term contracts with a combined total value of up to £120m.
The contracts cover Anglian Water’s East Area and include the installation of water meters and repair and maintenance of its water infrastructure assets. The contracts are for an initial period of three years, plus possible extensions for up to a further five years, with a combined annual value of up to £15m.
