Project helps revitalise a local community

The brief was to develop a lighting solution to enhance Waterside Gardens in Crayford, to create a welcoming open space and improve residents’ feelings of safety after dark.
The solution, developed by Cartledge in partnership with It Does Ltd, is maintenance friendly and uses the minimal amount of energy, while at the same time creating maximum impact.
A number of structures within the park have been dramatically lit, including the entrance, a central pavilion, a bridge and seating areas.
Chris Anderson, general manager at Cartledge, says: “The new lighting aids navigation around the park, provides interest, and adds depth, colour and movement. It has created a ‘wow’ factor, transforming the park after nightfall into a visually different and interesting space.”
