Another award for shareholder communications

May Gurney has enjoyed a second award win for effective communications with its shareholders in a little over a month.

The latest win was in the 2009 Investor Relations Best Practice Awards, which recognise companies that lead the way in the practice of investor communication. The awards were presented at the Royal Hospital Gardens, Chelsea in London on 26 November.

May Gurney won the award for the most effective overall Annual Report (printed and online), in the Small Cap and AIM category, which was sponsored by Deutsche Bank.

The Investor Relations Society represents members working for public companies to develop effective two-way communication with the markets and create a level playing field for all investors. It has almost 600 members drawn both from the UK and overseas, including the majority of the FTSE 100 and much of the FTSE 250.

Last month (October 2009) May Gurney won the ‘Best Communication’ category in the 2009 Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Awards - for the second year running. The AIM Awards recognise outstanding individuals and companies quoted on the market across a range of categories.

The AIM judges described May Gurney as ‘consistent in its approach to communicating clearly and effectively through presentations’, adding that the company ‘maintains regular contact with its shareholders through internal and external communication methods’.
