BSF gets underway in North Lincolnshire

The first major rebuild of a secondary school under the North Lincolnshire Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme started on 18 June.

Brumby Engineering College (pic below) in Scunthorpe is the first site to be revamped as part of the exciting £91m BSF project being carried out on behalf of North Lincolnshire Council.

Dr Tom Clark, principal, said: "It is a significant moment for us. It is great for our youngsters who have been given this wonderful opportunity and it is great for the town. The new building for science and technology will really take our engineering to a whole new level."

Cllr Gosling, cabinet member for children's services at the council, said: "Building Schools for the Future is a massive investment and this summer is set to be a really exciting time for North Lincolnshire schools."

Gary Mills, managing director of May Gurney Highways Services, added: “We will be carrying out the initial investment work and will also be responsible for ensuring the schools and their ICT facilities are maintained in the future.”
