Andrew Walker appointed non-executive director

Andrew Walker has joined the May Gurney Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Andrew, aged 57, who has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, has wide public company experience and was formerly chief executive of South Wales Electricity plc and McKechnie plc, prior to which he was managing director of a number of companies within the Dowty Group.

He is chairman of Bioganix plc and Brintons Limited, and holds non-executive directorships at API Group plc, Ultra Electronics plc, Delta plc, Manganese Bronze Holdings plc and Porvair plc.

David Sterry OBE, chairman, said: “We have been looking to strengthen our Board at non- executive level and Andrew meets all of our criteria. He has extensive non-executive experience as well as direct knowledge of regulated services - particularly utilities. We look forward to Andrew’s input to May Gurney as our company continues to grow.”
