Environmental solutions for Severn Trent Water projects

The project, to install new anaerobic digestion technology at three of STW’s sites, was the subject of a feature length article in the November issue of WET News.
Two of the sites, at Newtown (Powys) and Monkmoor (Shropshire), were handed back during the summer and are already producing biogas from their improved digester systems, and using it to fuel CHP units. And work at the third site, at Coalport in Shropshire, is nearing completion.
The work has enabled STW to reduce its carbon footprint and produce green energy at the three sites. STW will also become more self-sufficient and make significant savings on the ever-increasing cost of fuel from external suppliers.
