Cartledge gains official training accreditation

May Gurney’s specialist street lighting business, Cartledge, has become only the second street lighting contractor in the UK to be accredited to deliver NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) to its employees.

Cartledge has gained full approval for its qualified assessors to train 225 employees while they study for an NVQ in Highway Electrical Systems. The qualification will give employees the chance to develop their skills and demonstrate competence across a full range of activities.

Graham Cartledge, managing director, said: “Providing on the job training is an excellent way for us to make sure our services are delivered by a highly trained workforce, while also helping our employees to develop their skills.

“Offering NVQs to our workforce means that we are able to keep at the forefront of current industry issues while also continuing to deliver a quality service to our customers.”
