Awards round up - September 2007

May Gurney's MAD programme has been short listed for the inaugural SHP Awards.
The MAD (Making A Difference) behavioural change programme, which was developed and is delivered in house, has been short listed for the Health & Safety Achievement in Construction category.
MAD is credited for a spectacular improvement in May Gurney's AFR - from 0.43 at the outset of 2006 to 0.24 at the close. In 2007, the improvement continued and the AFR fell below 0.2 for the first time in the company's history. This performance far outstrips the construction industry average AFR (0.94) and is in line with that experienced in a factory manufacturing office equipment.
