It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it

The latest film to be launched on the ‘May Gurney Insight', YouTube channel, Wings of Justice, features an interesting new recruit in May Gurney's fight against litter and unwanted pests.

The star of the film is Chloe, a Mexican Harris Hawk who helps keep Torbay free of bin-raiding birds, especially seagulls. As the film says: “It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.”

Wings of Justice is the fourth film to be added to May Gurney Insight. The vodcasts are filmed in superhero comic book style and depict May Gurney's teams as the ‘Invisible Heroes' who keep towns and communities running smoothly.

The other films are:

“Green Giants” features the kerbside sort system that May Gurney uses to collect materials for recycling. The film explains how the system has increased the amount of materials recycled in Torbay from 20,000 to 32,000 tonnes per annum.

“Gum Busters” shows May Gurney teams cleaning streets and pavements, and how local residents respond positively to efforts to keep their local community clean and tidy.

“Lean mean grittin' machine” shows the winter highways maintenance teams at work. The crews explain that local people “seem pretty grateful” for the service they provide.

All of the films highlight the importance of support services and infrastructure and maintenance teams. They have been produced to build greater understanding among the public of the importance of their work and the passion the teams bring to their roles.
