Work underway on new £6.5m Network Rail contract

May Gurney has commenced work under a new £6.5m contract to replace 12 rail under bridges located in the LNE (London & North East) region between Peterborough and Doncaster, on behalf of Network Rail.

Work on the design of the scheme commenced on 15 December 2011 and implementation will be complete by the end of 2013.

The works comprise replacing the 12 bridges, including the one pictured which spans the Chesterfield Canal, and associated maintenance to abutments where required. There is also the possibility of a number of additional structures being added to the contract.

May Gurney has been working in partnership with Network Rail for many years - predominantly in long-term framework contracts - on the maintenance, replacement and improvement of structures, property and signaling across the national rail network. May Gurney delivers a wide range of maintenance and upgrading services for structures including bridges, embankments, tunnels, viaducts and earthworks.
