Green Giants are "so helpful"

The third film to be published on the ‘May Gurney Insight', YouTube channel shows the company's recycling teams in action.

The vodcasts are filmed in superhero comic book style and depict May Gurney's teams as the ‘Invisible Heroes' who keep towns and communities running smoothly.

The latest film, Green Giants, features the kerbside sort system that May Gurney uses to collect materials for recycling. The film explains how the system has increased the amount of materials recycled in Torbay from 20,000 to 32,000 tonnes per annum.

One elderly resident describes the recycling operatives as “so helpful”, adding that they “do everything for you”.

The first film in the series, ‘Gum Busters', shows May Gurney teams cleaning streets and pavements, and how local residents respond positively to efforts to keep their local community clean and tidy.

The second film, ‘Lean mean grittin' machine' shows the winter highways maintenance teams at work. The crews explain that local people “seem pretty grateful” for the service they provide.

The films highlight the importance of support services and infrastructure and maintenance teams. They have been produced to build greater understanding among the public of the importance of their work and the passion the teams bring to their roles.
