We have a 10-year contract to deliver waste management services to Bath & North East Somerset, through which we are helping the council build on more than 15 years of community recycling.
Bath & North East Somerset Council has an excellent reputation for the provision of recycling services and is in the top 10% of all local authorities for its recycling performance.
In November 2009 we launched a weekly plastics and cardboard collection service and introduced new state-of-the-art recycling trucks that can handle items including bottles, cardboard and plastic tubs, and trays and pots used for food packaging. The radical design of the new vehicle put BaNES at the cutting edge of kerbside recycling collection technology.
And in autumn 2010 we introduced a new food waste collection service. The waste is collected on the same day as other recyclable materials and then taken to a processing plant in Gloucestershire where it is recycled into compost.
