Our streetlight specialist – Cartledge - is helping to keep the streetlights on across many of London’s boroughs.

In Bromley, Cartledge has a four-year contract to carry out maintenance of existing street lighting and installation of new schemes. The contract includes an option to extend by a further four years.

The London Borough of Redbridge re-appointed Cartledge in May 2007 at the end of an initial three-year contract. Cartledge works closely with Redbridge and lighting manufacturer Philips to install new lights utilising the Philips CosmoWhite 60 W lamp installed in a Philips Mini Milewide luminaire. This new generation of light provides a natural white light, which greatly enhances the environment and is around 30% more efficient than conventional solutions.

Cartledge's contract with the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames covers 15,000 street lighting units and 3,000 bollards and traffic signs. The contact came into effect in August 2011 and runs for five years, with a possible two-year extension.

In Bexley, Cartledge is responsible for 22,100 units under a 12-year contract and in Waltham Forest in maintains 19,000 units under a three year contract (with a three year option).

Cartledge is also responsible for street light maintenance in Havering (20,000 units), Merton (18,000 units), Barking & Dagenham (17,500 units), Sutton (14,000 units plus bollards), Tower Hamlets (13,000 units) and Kingston-upon-Thames (10,900 units plus signs and bollards).
